Synopsis

Eric's story begins at a low point. His girlfriend dumps him, and the series opens on a man who appears, from the outside, to have just lost something important. What no one around him understands is what Eric actually is. He is a luxury brand CEO, and he possesses X-ray vision, an ability that lets him see through the surfaces that everyone else takes at face value. The series pairs that literal power with the confidence that comes from it, and Eric turns both toward a specific set of targets: the arrogant global influencers whose entire status rests on carefully managed appearances. A man who can see through anything is uniquely equipped to dismantle people whose power depends on what they conceal, and the series builds its arc around Eric bringing down the bullies who assumed their curated images made them untouchable. Running alongside that takedown is a lighter thread, as Eric wins the heart of his high school's most popular girl, grounding the power fantasy in a personal stake that keeps the story anchored in something other than spectacle. The series operates in the wish-fulfillment register, where a protagonist the world underestimated turns a hidden advantage into a systematic correction of everyone who looked down on him.

ReelShort is a short drama platform developed by Crazy Maple Studio, free to download on iOS and Android. New users access the opening episodes of each series at no charge, with additional episodes unlocking through a coin system. Coins come from daily logins, optional in-app ads, or direct purchases in the app store. Each episode runs about one minute, filmed in vertical format for portrait-mode phone screens. The platform holds the number seven position among top grossing entertainment apps as of May 2026, grew from 3.4 million to 37 million downloads in a single year by early 2024, and has been recognized by Time100, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal for its role in defining the short drama format.

What You Did Not Know About This Series

The X-ray vision premise gives the series a superpower hook that is uncommon in the short drama market, where hidden advantages usually take the form of concealed wealth, secret martial arts skill, or unrevealed family status. A literal supernatural ability to see through surfaces places the series closer to the superhero wish-fulfillment tradition than to the standard hidden-mogul premise, which gives it a distinct position within the platform's catalog of underestimated-protagonist stories.
The choice to aim Eric's power at global influencers rather than the usual targets of corporate rivals or a scheming family reflects a specifically contemporary framing. Influencers whose status depends entirely on managed appearances are a perfect target for a protagonist who can see through appearances, and the thematic fit between the power and the antagonists gives the takedowns a satisfying logic. The people most vulnerable to a man who sees the truth are precisely those whose power is built on illusion.
The series pairs its power fantasy with a high school romance subplot, where Eric wins over the most popular girl, which broadens the emotional appeal beyond the revenge-driven core. That combination of an adult CEO protagonist with a high school setting is an unusual structural blend, and it reflects the short drama market's tendency to layer multiple wish-fulfillment fantasies, professional dominance and romantic success, into a single title to maximize the range of viewers it can satisfy.
The series distributed across YouTube and Dailymotion through ReelShort's network of promotional channels using multiple app search codes including 1730088, 1730092, 1737023, and others, each directing viewers to the full series through the app's internal search function. That multi-code strategy allows the platform to track which promotional channels convert viewers into app users, making each code a distinct marketing measurement tool for a title the platform was pushing across many parallel accounts.
The tight plot framing emphasized in the promotional material signals a series structured for momentum, where each episode delivers a step in Eric's campaign against the influencer bullies without the pacing lulls that longer setups produce. In the one-minute episode format, that tight construction is essential, because the wish-fulfillment payoff has to arrive frequently enough to keep viewers unlocking episodes, and the series was promoted specifically on the strength of its pacing.
Full-episode compilations appeared across numerous Dailymotion channels within days of the series going live, with runtimes indicating a substantial complete series assembled from the platform's short episodes. The volume of parallel uploads across many independently operated channels, appearing within a day or two of launch, reflects the strong first-wave engagement that superpower wish-fulfillment titles reliably generate when the central hook lands with the audience.
The series sits within the broader expansion of superpower and ability-based premises across the short drama market in 2026, as platforms moved beyond the hidden-wealth and hidden-status structures that defined the format's early years and into more overtly fantastical territory. My X-Ray Vision Sees Right Through You functions as part of that shift, testing whether a literal superpower can drive the same wish-fulfillment satisfaction that the genre had previously generated through concealed social advantages, and the volume of its external distribution suggests the answer landed with the intended audience.
