Ms. CEO's Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death

Synopsis

Connor Reed runs the kind of operation that governments track and enemies fear. As the head of Dominion Tech, the largest private arms company in the world, he has built a reputation so dangerous that the people trying to kill him forced him to vanish entirely into the identity of an ordinary truck driver. On a long haul through the night, he crosses paths with Scarlett Hayes, saves her life, and spends one unplanned night with her before disappearing again to deal with the people hunting him. He closes that chapter and moves forward. Scarlett does not have that option. She raises their daughter Summer alone for four years, refuses an arranged marriage her family demands, and endures the cruelty of relatives who use her daughter's unknown paternity as a weapon against them both. When she finally tracks Connor down and introduces him to the four-year-old standing beside her, the most feared man in the global arms trade is completely unprepared for the only battle he has never trained for.

Fascinating Curiosities About the Series

The series launched on ReelShort on February 1, 2026, and quickly established itself as one of the platform's most talked-about titles of the year, powered by a premise that placed genuine arms-dealer danger at the center of what audiences expected to be a standard hidden-identity romance.
Nick Puya, who plays Connor Reed, was born on October 11, 1994, in South Florida, and began his acting career at nineteen. His physical stillness in early episodes, where Connor operates purely in survival mode, contrasts sharply with the warmth he brings to later scenes with Summer, and that contrast is widely cited as the performance detail that makes the series emotionally convincing.
Nikki Leigh, the actress behind Scarlett Hayes, is a model, actress, and content creator from Orange County, California, with a following of over a million across her platforms. Her portrayal of a woman who refuses to collapse under family pressure while raising a daughter alone gives Scarlett a backbone that makes every confrontation she faces feel genuinely earned.
Scarlett Shields plays Summer with a natural ease that no amount of direction can manufacture, bringing a warmth and spontaneity to every scene she shares with the lead cast that transforms the father-daughter dynamic from a plot device into the genuine emotional center of the entire series.
The flash marriage between Connor and Scarlett in the early episodes places two people with almost nothing in common inside a domestic situation that runs in constant and escalating tension with the assassination threat still actively circling Connor from outside their front door.
Scarlett's stepmother and half-sister represent a particular kind of cruelty the series handles with real precision, using Summer's unknown paternity as a social weapon in ways that make Connor's eventual intervention feel not just like personal justice but like the correction of something that should never have been allowed to go on as long as it did.
The series earned an IMDb user rating of approximately 8.3 in its opening weeks, placing it among the highest-rated vertical short-form productions of 2026 and reflecting the breadth of its audience appeal across viewers who came for the action, stayed for the family drama, and left talking about the performances.
